Upon close inspection, it turned out to be a long lost prop made for 1970 film The Private Life Of Sherlock Holmes. The discovery was made by Kongsberg Maritime, a Norwegian company working with VisitScotland to explore the ecology of the loch and find out if it's possible that a real monster could be living there.
